The accountability court of Lahore on Wednesday extended physical remand of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and her cousin Yousuf Abbas till September 4 in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
A team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced Maryam and Yousuf before the accountability court amid high security. After hearing the case, Accountability Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik granted further remand for 14 days. The judge after extending the remand directed NAB to produce Maryam and Yousuf before the court on September 4.
On August 8, PML-N leader was taken into custody by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from Kot Lakhpat Jail, where she had been visiting her incarcerated father, former premier Nawaz Sharif. The accountability court granted the NAB 12-day physical remand of Maryam Nawaz and her cousin Yousuf Abbas in the case.
