State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Monday, while talking to media at Darul Uloom Haqqania after offering condolence to Hamid-ul-Haq, son of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, said that investigation regarding Mulana’s assassination would not be compromised and criminals involved in this case would be brought to justice. He further said that he will present investigation report to Prme Minister Imran Khan, who directed for the inclusion of all stake-holders in the investigation.
The minister said, “I do not want to divulge anything for the investigation not to get compromised.” He said that “Maulana Samiul Haq was a great personality and his role in seminary reforms in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was exemplary.” “His religious and political services would always be remembered.”
Maulana Sami-ul-l Haq, religious scholar and former senator was assassinated at his residence in Rawalpindi on Friday. In their initial statement to the police, the domestic staff members said, “The two men had visited Maulana Samiul Haq on several occasions before as well and wanted to meet him alone”. “The JUI-S chief sent us to the market to bring food and drinks,” they further said. “When we returned after 15 minutes, we found Maulana Samiul Haq lying in a pool of blood.”
