Medical report of two Hindu sisters, Reena and Raveena who were allegedly forcibly converted to Islam, has cleared all speculations about both girls’ adulthood.
Medical reports prepared by Dr Sania from the department of Radiology of the PIMS hospital revealed that both girls are 19 and 18 years of age, respectively when it was presented in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and rejected the claims of underage marriage. The report has rejected the reports that both girls are of ages between 13 and 15.
Earlier, the court had ordered the state to take over custody of the girls, and they were subsequently handed over to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat after they pleaded with the IHC for protection.
Two Hindu sisters, Raveena and Reena were allegedly kidnapped and forcibly married after being converted to Islam, on March 24 approached a court in Bahawalpur seeking protection. As per details, two girls belonged to Ghotki district, converted and got married of their own free will. The girls were allegedly kidnapped by a group of “influential” men from their home in Ghotki district on the eve of Holi. Soon after the kidnapping, a video went viral in which a cleric was purportedly shown soleminising the Nikah (marriage) of the two girls.
