Pakistan’s young pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi became the youngest ever player to take four wickets in a World Cup match. Shaheen Afridi got the wickets in a match against Afghanistan at Headingley.
By doing so at the age of 19 years , Shaheen not only became the youngest to claim four wickets in a World Cup match but also the first ever teenager to do so. Shaheen surpassed Scotland’s John Blain, age 20 years who got four wickets in 1999 World Cup game against Bangladesh.
Shaheen was picked for the following game against New Zealand where he bowled an important spell for his team. The 19-year-old bagged three wickets upfront to put the inform Kiwis team into tatters. He finished with figures of 10-3-28-3 in that game.
Shaheen Afridi got wickets of Gulbadin Naib, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Najibullah Zardan and Rashid Khan to finish with bowling figures of 4/47 in World Cup match against Afghanistan at Headingley on Saturday.
