The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that heavy showers will continue to drench Karachi till Wednesday and the city will experience up to 80mm of rainfall.
The met office has also issued an alert of urban flooding in the metropolis, as well as in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Thatta. According to the Met office, there is risk of urban flooding in these cities on Monday and Tuesday.
The Met department has advised all relevant institutions to take precautionary measures and make necessary security arrangements to deal with any untoward situation. On the other hand, at least eight people, including children, have been electrocuted to death in Karachi after incessant rain in the metropolis on Monday (July 29).
As per the details, the incident took place in the Paposh Nagar area where two people lost their lives due to electrocution, while four other deaths were reported from Defense Phase-V, Gulistan-e-Johar and Nazimabad.
