According to an evaluation report released by the federal government, the revenue of the Department of Communications has increased by an impressive 51 percent. The figures were revealed in a report on the Department’s results and expenditures for the last 11 months. The revenue of the Ministry of Communication reached 43 billion rupees.
Murad Saeed, Federal Minister of Communications and Postal Services, has so far recovered 7 billion rupees and deposited the amount into the national basket. The report indicates that billions of rupees were also recovered during the anti-encroachment campaign of the government.
He noted that under previous governments, ministers and parliamentary secretaries had received Rs 35.91 000 and Rs 48 52 000 respectively for Travelling Allowance & Dearness Allowance (TA&DA). It was also revealed that vehicle and fuel expenses amounted to Rs 1,20,00,000 under the mandate of the former ruling parties.
A new system has been introduced in the ministry. It contains services such as e-billing, e-tendering, and mobile app to improve transparency.
