As per to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has issued the monthly inflation numbers for the outgoing February noting a 1.8% hike in consumer price index (CPI) based on Month-on-Month comparison.
According to details provided by PBS, For the Year-on-Year table, a total of 8.7% inflation was recorded in Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of February this year when compared with the same month last year 2020.
The monthly report recorded the inflation of the current fiscal year until February which stood at 8.25%, The price of poultry increased 37% in the month, while cooking oil recorded an 11.9 price hike.
The fruits increased by 9%, while pulses also hiked by at least 3.28% in the preceding month.
The report of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) shows tht the prices of tomatoes recorded the highest increase with 58%, while potatoes also grew 12%.
On the other hand the condiments also booked a increase by 5.5% and prices of dozen eggs reported 10% hike.
The data released by PBS record a hike of 29% in the prices of electricity units as well.
