At home ground Multan Sultans’ bowlers bowled really well to get Zalmi all-out for 124. Sohail Tanvir was the key bowler as the left-arm pacer picked up 4 wickets for 13 runs in 3.3 overs. Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Ilyas got 2 wickets each while Shahid Afridi and Imran Tahir shared a wicket apiece.
Haider and Dawson added 44 for the fifth-wicket stand. Zalmi collapsed drastically from 85/4 to 113/9. Haider Ali with 47 off just 27 balls was the highest scorer for Zalmi after they decided to bat first. His inning included six fours and two sixes. Liam Dawson scored 22 off 23 balls. Zalmi`s lost their openers earlier for just 35 runs. Kamran Akmal scored 15 while Tom Banton scored 4 runs. Later in 6th over, young Ilyas claimed Shoaib Malik and Liam Livingstone to further reduce Zalmi to 41-4.
Chasing target, Sultans suffered an initial collapse after they lost their four top-order batsmen in early. James Vince (5) was dropped at slips on the very first ball of the second inning. Sammy gave away the immediate chance but Hasan Ali removed Vince off the last ball of the same over.
Meanwhile, Rahat Ali and Wahab Riaz joined the party and removed Moeen Ali (2) and Shan Masood (8), respectively second and fifth over. Later, in the end, Rossouw and Khushdil did the job for their team. Wahab took two wickets while Hasan Ali and Rahat Ali bagged a wicket each.
