Mumbai is the richest in India and 12th richest city in the world but it is not the top Indian city to live. Mumbai lack the basic ingredients to become the most livable city despite having the wealth. Mumbai’s total wealth is estimated at $90 billion that is bigger than the total GDP of many Indian states.
Mumbai is richer than Toronto (Canada) and Paris (France) but less desirable to live compare to Toronto and Paris. So just big and wealthy is not enough to make you best in the country and in the world.
This fact was revealed by the survey conducted jointly by Jagran.com, KPMG and Facebook. According this survey, the less known Indore is the most livable city in India and Dehradun is the safest city in India.
Interestingly, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai failed to make it into list of top 10 most livable cities of India. Even though, these cities attract the most of economic migration within India but are not the ultimate choice of the people to live.
Big cities have more economic opportunities and to earn living than the small cities. But quality of life is much better in less known cities.
The rankings were done on the basis of four factors health, infrastructure, economy and safety of property and human life. It is no surprise that three leading Indian cities failed to make a place in the top ten cities simply because these mega cities lack the facilities like education, health, safety and safer environment.
Here’s the list of top 10 Indian cities to live in.
