The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approached the Ministry of Interior for placing the names of Hamza Shehbaz Sharif and his brother Salman Shehbaz on the Exit Control List (ECL). NAB in a letter argued that both brothers are under investigation, therefore names should be placed on ECL.
“NAB has recommended to the ministry to place the names of Hamza Shahbaz and Salman Shahbaz on the ECL,” a NAB spokesman said in a statement issued on Friday.
NAB had launched inquiry against Salman and Hamza that Rs 200 million was paid from the national exchequer to construct bridge in Chiniot which allegedly facilitates Ramzan Sugar Mills owned by Sharif family. Shehbaz brothers also being investigated over possessing assets beyond means case. Hamza Shehbaz appeared before NAB last week but his brother Salman failed to do so as he is in London.
Earlier on October 5, NAB had arrested father of Salman and Hamza, Shahbaz Sharif, in connection the Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scam.
