An Accountability Court of Islamabad on Friday (July 19) approved request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), remanded former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Into NAB’s custody for 13 days.
NAB had produced the senior PML-N stalwart a day later after apprehending him. In this regard, strict security measures have been taken across various spots in the federal capital. The NAB has arrested Abbasi on July 18 from the Lahore Toll Plaza on Motorway.
He was arrested in connection with LNG import contract and LNG terminal. The NAB arrested him when he reached at Lahore Toll Plaza Thokar Niaz Baig after showing him arrest warrant. He was coming to Lahore to attend the press conference of PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif. Shahid Khan Abbasi is facing the accusation of handing over a tender worth Rs220 billion to a company in which he was a shareholder himself. His name was already in the Exit Control List (ECL).
