After the Executive Board meeting of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) which was held on Thursday (Feb 14) NAB has approved thirteen inquires, seven investigations and filing of three references against top Pakistani politicians and bureaucrats including foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, former chairman Auqaf Siddiqul Farooq and many others.
The meeting also rejected the request of former secretary of the water and power ministry Shahid Rafi to transfer his corruption reference to Islamabad from Quetta. The Board approved transfer of inquiries of officers and officials of FATA Health Directorate and others to Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtuknhwa for further appropriate legal proceedings as per law. Earlier, NAB chairman shad made it clear that mega corruption cases will be taken to logical end is the foremost priority of the bureau.
Speaking at the executive board meeting of NAB, Justice Iqbal said “we believe to meet all legal requirements for arrest of the corrupt elements, proclaimed offenders and absconders who plundered the national wealth” ” We in bureau believe to complete the case according to substantial evidence and the law” he said.
