After probing bigwigs of politics and business tycoons, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has is now stepping into matter of sponsored advertisements as the anti-graft watchdog has decided to probe the monetary benefits and details of advertisements printed by and handed out to various publications of the country in the year 2007, local media reported.
In order to carry complete investigation, the Director General for Public Relations of the country has been ordered to provide details for advertisements staring from 2007 till the month of July of the same year, specifically the 19th of the month. In a written statement to the DG-PR prior to the submission, NAB had formally written to the director seeking his assistance on the inquiry.
Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said NAB was committed to taking the mega corruption cases to their logical conclusion to make Pakistan corruption-free.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has so far recovered a record 326 billion rupees from corrupt elements and deposited the amount into national exchequer. This was stated by Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal while listening to the people’s corruption related complaints at an ‘Open Ketchery’ in Islamabad.
He said the Bureau has arrested forty three suspects involved in Mudarba and Muskarka Scams and some of them have already been taken to task.
