National Accountability Bureau’s corruption crackdown against senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and other high profile officials is continued. In the recent development in corruption crackdown, the executive board meeting of the NAB presided by chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, on Wednesday (Jan 2) approved the initiation of investigation against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi about his tenure as a former federal petroleum minister.
As per details abbasi is allegedly involves in misuse of power regarding a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project, the agency said. In addition, NAB will also launch investigation against other bigwigs including Arshad Mirza, former petroleum secretary; Sheikh Imran-ul-Haq, former managing director, Pakistan State Oil (PSO); Yaqub Sattar, deputy managing director, Pakistan State Oil and Muhammad Naeemuddin Khan, President/Chief Operating Officer, Bank of Punjab and others, said a press release.
