Chief Minister of India’s Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday approved the resignation tendered by Navjot Singh Sidhu and sent it to Governor. Sidhu himself has not announced his next move in the arena of Indian politics. It is to be noted that Mr. Sidhu had resigned from his post on June 16 owing to rifts with Captain Amarinder Singh.
Amarinder Singh had said he will decide on Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation after going through the contents of his letter. He had said he will do so after attending some meetings lined up in Delhi and returning back to Chandigarh.
Last month, Navjot Singh Sidhu even met Congress president Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi and “apprised him of the situation” and also handed over a letter to him. Submitting his resignation letter to the former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Sidhu posted a copy of the same on Twitter. The letter is dated June 10, 2019.
