After rejection of bail plea in Al-Azizia reference, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo, on Monday (May 20) has re-filed his petition seeking bail on medical grounds, in Islamabad High Court (IHC). According to details, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman and Kot Lakhpat Jail superintendent were made parties in the plea.
Earlier former Prime Minister in form of rally, was returned back to Kot Lakhpat jail, after the Supreme Court’s three member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa rejected his petition seeking permanent bail on medical grounds. Supreme Court also dismisses petition of Nawaz Sharif seeking treatment abroad.
Nawaz Sharif, in July 2017,was disqualified by the Supreme Court as it investigated revelations that came out of the so-called Panama Papers, leaked documents from a Panamanian law firm. The documents indicated that Mr. Sharif’s family owned expensive properties in London, but he was unable to explain how he was able to afford them. On July 06, an accountability court sentenced the former PM, daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (r) Safdar in Avenfield reference.
