The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s ticket to London for medical treatment has been cancelled on Monday (Nov 11) due to delay in excluding his name from exit control list (ECL).
The departure of former premier was delayed and his schedule to travel Qatar Airways flight QR629 changed today. Tickets of Nawaz Sharif, his brother Shehbaz Sharif and Dr. Adnan were canceled, as his name remains on the ECL.
It is pertinent to mention here that the former Prime Minister accompanied by Shehbaz Sharif and Dr. Adnan were scheduled to leave for London, today for treatment, via Qatar Airways’s commercial flight QR-629 from Lahore. Both the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Ministry of Interior couldn’t arrive at a decision regarding removal of the name of the PML-N supremo from the Exit Control List (ECL) for one reason or another.
NAB chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has summoned a key meeting in this regard. Advocate General and other concerned officials will be attending the meeting. The session will review the letter of interior ministry about removal of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s name from the no-fly list.
NAB sought a medical report regarding Mr Nawaz’s health to make its decision whether to allow him to travel abroad or not. It is pertinent to remember that Nawaz Sharif was scheduled to leave for London via Qatar Airways’s commercial flight QR-629 on Monday morning. However, the tickets have been cancelled and his departure has delayed until his name would be removed from no-fly list.
