Prime Minister Imran Khan will formally inaugurate the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority in Islamabad on 17th of this month. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry after a session of the Federal Cabinet said that under the supervision of Authority 135,000 housing units would be built across the country in first phase. The Minister said for Gwadar fishermen, a special town would be built under the scheme.
“25,000 apartments will be built in Islamabad for federal government employees and 110,000 apartments will be constructed in Balochistan for fishermen of Gwadar,” Chaudhry said. “Media University will be established after merging three academies namely PTV Academy, Information Academy, and Pakistan Broadcasting Academy,” the information minister said.
This project is aimed to provide homes on ownership basis to the homeless people. The legal formalities are under way to legalise the project. The law ministry is working on a summary to frame the rules and regulation of the project.
