The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), After reaching the milestone of administering more than 10 million doses of coronavirus vaccination, has made COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for public and private sector employees.
As per to details, The decision to this effect was taken at the NCOC session held in Islamabad with Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar in the chair.
The NCOC instructed public sector employees that “The government employees should get themselves vaccinated by June 30,” it said while sharing that the citizens would be encouraged to get vaccinated.
The NCOC decided that a nationwide mass COVID-19 vaccination drive will be run under 3-pronged approach and all citizens will be immunized on a voluntary basis.
On the other hand the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) also allowed walk-in vaccination of citizens aged 18 and above from June 11 besides easing coronavirus restrictions countrywide.
The forum also decided to close business centres once a week, contrary to the previous ban on movement for 2 days a week.
“The provinces will independently decide on the day,” the body overseeing coronavirus strategy countrywide said adding that restrictions on shrines and cinemas would however continue.
The NCOC further allowed the offices to operate with 100% attendance, while the ban on inter-provincial transport for 2 days has also been lifted, The occupancy in public transport has also been raised from 50 to 70%, NCOC added
It must be noted that the ease in COVID-19 restrictions will come into force from June 15.
