The Pakistan Cricket Board announced that another member of the Pakistani squad in New Zealand has tested positive for COVID-19, taking the total coronavirus cases to 8.
The PCB said in a statement that “Out of 54, a total of 8 Pakistan cricket team members have tested positive following day 1, 3 and 6 tests,”
The statement of the PCB further reads that out of the 8, 2 have been labeled “historic”, making them “not infectious” “They are now observing the quarantine period on the same floor as the other members of the squad who have tested negative,”
The Pakistan Cricket Board also shared that the New Zealand authorities may give the go-ahead for the team to train, in their managed quarantine facility, following their day 9 tests if they return negative. However, the final approval still lies with the New Zealand Health Ministry.
