New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced to broadcast ‘Azaan’ on its national TV and radio on Friday.
According to media reports, she also announced two minutes of silence on Friday and will mark one week since Christchurch terrorist attack.
An Australian white supremacist gunman, 28-year-old Australian Brenton Harrison Tarrant, shot down 50 Muslim worshippers at two mosques in the southern city of Christchurch last Friday (March 14) in a killing spree he broadcast live.
The Christchurch shooter’s two targets were the Al Noor Mosque, where 41 people were killed, and a second, smaller mosque in the suburb of Linwood, where seven more died. Police called for people not to share the video, which showed the gunman shooting repeatedly at worshippers from close range.
