After humiliating defeat by Indian cricket team and worst performance in world cup tournament, reports were started circulating that Pakistan’s cricket team captain, Sarfraz Ahmad has lashes out at his players in the dressing room and said that he knows about grouping against him. The captain lost his temper in a team meeting after the humiliating 89-run defeat at the hands of India.
The sources further informed that Sarfraz said that if he gets removed from captaincy then many other players will lose their place from the national team. He warned the players to perform well in upcoming matches which is so important for the team in order to qualify for the semi-final of the World Cup.
Meanwhile the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday (June 18) rejected the media reports of grouping and said that the entire team is standing behind skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed. The board spokesperson said “There is no reality in the news related to conflicts between players and the captain. Media should avoid unnecessary speculations,” said the board official. “Board and players have given fill confidence to Sarfaraz. There are tough dressing room talks but there is no grouping. The team wants to perform well in the tournament and they will.” added the PCB spokesperson.
The PCB official said that the players and coach Mickey Arthur share cordial relations contrary to the media reports.
