Noted religious scholar and chief of Jafaira Alliance, Allama Abbas Kumaili passed away on Saturday (June 8) after a prolonged illness, confirmed family members.
He was admitted in a private hospital near Soldier Bazar (Karachi) from last four months. The deceased was an elected Senator for the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Kumaili was 70 years old. He was a diabetic patient and suffered cardiac issues.
Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Kumaili. The prime minister said that late Allama Kumaili was a strong voice for the unity of Muslims and sectarian harmony. He also prayed for the departed soul and the bereaved family, PM office media wing in a press release said.
