Opposition Alliance’s ‘Rahbar Committee’ will meet today (July 11) to finalize the name of their candidate for Chairman Senate. According to sources, the meeting will be chaired by Akram Khan Durrani and the committee will discuss on the names of the probable candidate for Senate chairmanship. However, it has also been circulating that the next chairman will be chosen from Balochistan.
The probable names of the candidates include Senator Mir Kabir and Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo, the sources added. Earlier, the
Opposition on July 9 submitted a resolution, signed by 44 senators, against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to Senate Secretary. The 11-member opposition’s anti-government Rahbar Committee had announced consensus to remove the chairman Senate.
The recently formed committee is made up of nine opposition parties and held its first meeting in Islamabad. In the first meeting, it took an oath of confidentiality and formulated a policy to run the anti-government movement. The opposition will mull over its next chairman of the upper house of the legislature on July 11.
