In Afghanistan, more than forty Taliban have been killed in Takhar, Uruzgan and Badghis provinces during last 24 hours. A local pro-government militia commander, Mohammad Qasim said four Taliban have been killed in Azon Kotal area in Rustaq district of northern Takhar province, , a local pro-government militia commander Mohammad Qasim told Xinhua.
He said twenty-three militants have been killed in the outskirts of Tirin Kot city of Uruzgan province. Qasim also confirmed that one of his comrades had been injured in the fighting, which broke out on Monday morning.
Government forces’ aircraft targeted Taliban positions in Chian and Khanaqa neighborhoods in the outskirts of Tirin Kot city, capital of southern Uruzgan province on Sunday, destroying seven Taliban hideouts and killing 23 militants, said an army statement released Monday.
