Hero of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) war veteran Wing Commander (r) Tariq Habib Khan, who had shown extraordinary gallantry in the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971 has been been passed away after a prolonged illness on Wednesday (Feb 13). The government had conferred upon him the Sitara-e-Jurat (Star of Courage) which is the third highest military award of Pakistan.
He was laid to rest at the Nur Khan Airbase in Chaklala, with military honor. Civil and military personalities and people belonging to different walks of life were present at the funeral prade.
Later, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan while paying tribute to Khan expressed his condolences on the demise of the national hero.The air force chief said that Khan was an extraordinary fighter and a patriot whose services for the country would never be forgotten.
