The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has reduced the price of plastic packaging for luggage at all airports in the country. By order of the federal aviation minister, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, the price was reduced to 50 rupees. The CAA has sent a notification to all airports in this regard and the revised price will be effective as of today.
The new single packing fee is 50 rupees. Previously, double packaging fees were Rs. 400, while the airport authorities charged Rs. 200 per single packing.
Minister says Baggage Packaging Rates Should be Minimal at Airports
Earlier on 13 July, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said that the fees for plastic baggage packaging should be as minimal as possible for the comfort of passengers at the airports.
During his visit to the Islamabad International Airport, he asked the management of the Civil Aviation Authority to follow a uniform policy on the baggage handling service at all airports and to publish Prices in a prominent place at each airport.
The minister made it clear that the airport authorities would receive 100 rupees per pack of plastic.
In addition, airport manager Tahir Sikandar informed the minister about the integrated system of human resources management and construction of the airport.
He also spoke with Khan about the parking lot and the green channel at the airport.
