Federal cabinet endorsed on Friday (August 9)the decision of National Security Committee’s meeting of suspending bilateral trade ties with India after India’s move to abolish occupied Kashmir’s special status. The meeting of the federal cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan held in Islamabad.
The meeting was apprised that the overall Pak-India trade volume is two billion and 120 million dollars. Meeting has decided that FBR will make the amendment in exports and imports orders. The meeting also approved suspending Samjhauta Express and Thar Express.
It is pertinent here to mention that the decision to suspend Samjhauta Express was announced by Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed saying the train service won’t start until he is the minister.
Pakistan’s top civil and military leadership on Wednesday (August 7) decided to downgrade diplomatic relations and suspend bilateral trade with India in the aftermath of New Delhi’s illegal move of revoking Occupied Kashmir’s special status. The decision was taken at the meeting of National Security Committee (NSC) in Islamabad, with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, said a statement issued by the PM Office.
