In a bid to restore peace between the two nations, the first round of Track-II talks between Pakistan and India will kick-off in Islamabad on Friday (July 12). The dialogue, which has been organised by Regional Peace Institute (RPI), will carry on till Saturday.
Secretary Foreign Affairs will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the talks. The second phase of talks will be held in New Delhi. The Track-II dialogue between the arch-rivals is expected to diminish the tensions which emerged in February after the Pulwama incident in India followed by downing of Indian air-crafts by Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Its worth mentioning that tension between two countries escalated after February 14 suicide bombing in Pulwama, occupied Kashmir, which had killed over 40 Indian soldiers. India piled the blame for Pulwama bombing on Pakistan without presenting any proof. The allegations were strongly refuted by Pakistan.
