Pakistan and Japan have inked a Memorandum of Cooperation on Technical Intern Training Programme in a bid to export manpower to Japan. This is first institutional arrangement between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Japan which will open up Japanese market for Pakistani workers.
The Memorandum will also play a vital role in contributing to the human resource development, development of the economy of Pakistan, as well as promote bilateral cooperation. The cooperation under this Memorandum will continue for a period of five years from the date of the commencement of this Memorandum and will be extended automatically for additional five years.
Earlier An agreement to this effect was signed in Islamabad on Feb 19 between representatives of Japan government, United Nations Development Program and the World Food Program. Out of the total 10.6 million dollars, 3.5 million will be used towards the early identification and treatment of 155,000 acutely malnourished mothers and children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
