Foreign Office of Pakistan summoned a senior Indian diplomat and registered Pakistan’s strong protest over ceasefire violations by India along the LOC.
Foreign Office, In a statement, said that due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian occupation forces along LoC in Karela Sector last day, 28 year old woman named Madeeha Hafeez, resident of Batla Mathrani village, sustained serious injuries.
Statement also said that the Indian occupation forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons.
India has till now committed 1487 ceasefire violations resulting in 13 martyred and serious injuries to 106 innocent civilians during the current year.
The Foreign Office of Pakistan underscored that such senseless acts are in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces.
The FO also against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct. It said by adding these egregious violations of international law reflect consistent Indian attempts to escalate situation along the LoC and are a threat to regional peace and security.
The statement further added that by raising tensions along the LoC and the WB, India cannot divert attention from the grave human rights situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian side was called upon to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate this and other such incidents of deliberate ceasefire violations and maintain peace along the LoC and the WB.
