Wasim Khan Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive has clarified that no deal has been made with the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for a return tour to Pakistan’s upcoming tour to England this summer.
Getting cricket back was the priority, He also admitted that he had been asked several times regarding a deal for a return tour, Wasim said while talking in an interview with Sky Sports
He said that “There is a lot of cricket to be played between now and 2022. I’ve had that question raised a few times; has there been a deal cut? Is something going to happen? But the simple fact is, and it’s a genuine answer that we need to get cricket back on again,”
“This is about getting cricket back on again. The cricketers want to play. I think it is important for the global game as well that we try to bring normalcy back to playing cricket again whatever that might look like over the next six to twelve months,” Wasim added.
Wasim further said that Now is probably not the time to try and leverage anything. Naturally things will take their course over the next two years. We have got a lot of home series between now and then, which hopefully will go successfully and we will give more confidence to the likes of Australia and England, who are due to tour in 2022,”
