Xian Aircraft Industrial Corporation owned by Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) is working on high-powered, shoulder winged airliner known as Modern Ark 700 (MA700). The MA700 has the ability to operate in difficult and complex flight environments.
Pakistan, among other countries, like Bahrain, Cambodia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, etc. is lined up to acquire the $25 million MA700. The plane will available as early as 2022.
The airplane will house 86 passengers and be able to reach speeds up to 640 kilometers per hour. The aircraft has a range of 2700km. The medium-range twin-engine aircraft is a direct competitor to French ATR 72, Ilyushin IL-114, and Canadian Bombardier Q Series and the company aims to capture 20% share of the global turboprop regional aircraft market by 2026.
The aircraft’s impressive capabilities will make it an ideal choice for PIA’s domestic flights. The airplane’s capability of operating under difficult flight conditions will also make it massively beneficial for Pakistan Army as well.
The company has received 285 intended orders from 11 clients including Pakistan for its third member of the MA series.
