Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday (July 29) has caught two trucks fully loaded with 50,000 Litres rancid oil after three days hectic effort and sealed an oil mill after its involvement in this unlawful business proved.
The PFA has sealed Hameed Oil Mill, which supplies unhealthy cooking oil to hotels, and seized 50,000 litres during a special raid. The PFA Director-General Captain (retd.) Muhammad Usman followed six oil tankers for three consecutive raids before the raid on Monday (today) to find out the location of the factory and people involved in the business.
He said the extracted oil from animal fat could only be used in biodiesel and consuming such oil causes health issue. The authority was fully active to ensure the provision of healthy and safe food for public in the market, he added.
