Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement said on Monday that out of the total, 84 bodies of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash victims have been identified and handed over to their families. He maintained that of the 84 bodies, 45 has been identified through DNA tests.
Murad further said that 13 bodies have been kept in different morgues and their identification process was underway. “9 bodies have been kept in Edhi morgue while 4 in Chippa morgue,” he said.
Meanwhile, the visiting team of French experts who arrived here on May 26 to help with the crash probe of the PIA plane (PK-8303) returned to France Monday morning at the end of their mission.
The French team and two members of the Pakistani Aircraft Accident and Investigation Commission boarded a flight to Paris at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. They also took the black box and voice recorder from the aircraft cockpit with them to begin decoding them.
