A day after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi was spotted among protesting lawyers who attacked the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, resulting into deaths of several people and overall loss of 70 million, Punjab Police on Friday (Dec 13) raided the residence of Hassan Niazi, as pressure grew to arrest him.
The deputy inspector general (DIG) Investigations said that Niazi could not be arrested by the raiding party “as he was not at home”. The official said that “the latest technology” is being used to arrest the PM’s nephew. “Police have [so far] not named Hassan Niazi in their case,” the DIG noted, but clarified that Niazi was believed to be among the lawyers who attacked the hospital.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan’s nephew, Barrister Hassaan Niazi, was seen taking part in the lawyers violent protests that claimed the lives of at least 3 people at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on December, 11. (Wednesday). An image of Hassaan Khan Niazi, son of Hafizullah Niazi, surfaced after the protest took a turn for the worst and the lawyers started to get violent. He was also seen throwing stones at the police and damaging a police vehicle in CCTV footage.
