The newly-appointed director general of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia, called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday (Dec 2).
On the occasion, Mr Khan said that fighting organised crime including corruption, cybercrime, economic crime, immigration-related crimes and money laundering, as well as carrying out across-the-board accountability, were the plank of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government’s agenda.
PM apprised Zia that curbing corruption, immigration and money laundering remains the top agenda of the government. “Pakistan is standing at the crossroads. Political leadership will give the vision while country’s bureaucracy will implement it”, the premier was quoted as saying. “Together, political top brass and bureaucracy will ascertain the future of the country”, added premier.
PM urged Zia to perform his duties with utmost honesty. On the other hand, FIA DG assured the premier that he would leave no stone unturned to perform his tasks efficaciously.
