Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high-level session on Kashmir crisis, where Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence Lt Gen Faiz Hameed were also present.
The meeting decided to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on 5th February next month in a befitting manner. The meeting welcomed the consideration of Jammu and Kashmir in the UN Security Council today and noted that it reflects the international community’s recognition of the seriousness of the situation.
Soon after United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held a closed door meeting on human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (Jan 16) welcomed UNSC’ s discussion on Kashmir.
PM Imran took to Twitter and wrote: “Pakistan welcomes UN Security Council discussing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir again. An internationally recognized dispute, Jammu and Kashmir remains on the Security Council’s agenda and its consideration by the Council reflects a recognition of the seriousness of the prevailing situation”.
