Prime Minister Imran Khan met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday (Nov 20) to discuss the security situation of the country. This is the second publicized meeting between the two within a span of around a week.
The prime minister and the army chief had discussed the security situation of the country, including the developments in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) during the last meeting.
It’s worth mentioning here that earlier, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor—while rubbishing rumors—stated that there was no difference between the federal government and the army.
The army spokesperson had maintained that it is Constitutional responsibility of the Pakistan Army to support the government. “Prime Minister (PM) and army chief remain contact. Some meetings are reported while other are not. Army and federal government are on the same page”, DG ISPR said while talking to a TV channel.
