Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday (Dec 9) has inaugurated Pakistan’s first science and technology Park at National University of Science and Technology in Islamabad and said vowed to transform Pakistan into a knowledge economy by equipping the youth with the latest technologies.
The Prime Minister said a task force headed by Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman is giving advice to the government to achieve the objective of knowledge economy. He said that the government will give special emphasis to the science and technology, education and future technologies to unleash the potential of the youth.
He said equipping the youth with the latest technologies will help create immense opportunities for them. The Prime Minister appreciated the initiative of the establishment of National Science and Technology Park at the NUST. He assured to provide every possible support to the university to take forward this project. He said this model will also be replicated in other institutions as well.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (Dec 5) has launched much awaited and dream project of Digital Pakistan. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad.
This Project is a part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s digitization program, which aims to use the latest technologies for public welfare. The issue of cybersecurity will also be dealt with under this initiative. Under this program, the government and private sector will work in collaboration to towards a digitally progressive and inclusive Pakistan.
