Dirilis: Kemal Tekden’s Ertugrul team met with Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss in depth the proposed TV series focused on the role of Turk Lala’s renowned sub-continental personality in the Khilafat Movement.
During the meeting, Imran Khan praised the Turkish historical drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul and urged the Pakistani media to come up with projects such as Ertugrul.
“The Pakistani film and drama sector should work to promote local culture,” PM Khan said.
By making films and dramas about that golden age, attempts should be made to foil the designs of propaganda mongers,” he added.”
Kemal Tekden acknowledged the decision by Imran Khan to telecast Turkish dramas in Pakistan, saying.
“Imran Khan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shared the vision that raising young people’s awareness of their history and culture was vital for a country’s development.”
Other than that, Tekden told Imran Khan that every year on June 30th, Turkey celebrates a national day to honour Turk Lala.
Imran Khan promised that the planned Turk Lala television series would receive full government cooperation.
Senator Shibli Faraz, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shehryar Khan Afridi, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, and members of the Turkish and Pakistani film industries were present at the meeting.
