PM Imran launched the Sehat Sahulat Program for the transgender community during a ceremony held on December 30, in Islamabad.
During his address at the ceremony, PM Khan said the ruling government has taken up the responsibility for the transgender community who had been completely ignored by previous ruling parties. PM Imran also stated that 2020 will be the year of growth as new job opportunities will be provided to the people of Pakistan.
“PTI government stabled economy in 2019 and from next year the incumbent government will produce job opportunities for Pakistani people and will bring more programs for the betterment of youth,” he added.
He further revealed that ‘Insaf Ration Cards’, a scheme similar to the USA food stamps is under development and will be launched soon in order to reduce poverty in the country. PM Khan also handed out Sehat Insaf cards to the transgender community present at the venue.
As of December 27, 2019 under the direction of PM Khan, the Health Insurance Scheme and Health Cards distribution is being expanded to other provinces. PM Khan has also directed the concerned authorities to provide details regarding the issuance and the benefits of the Health Cards.
The Health Card scheme covers angioplasty, brain surgery, cancer treatment among other diseases, that will be treated free of cost. At the very least, 15 million people are expected to benefit from this policy.
