Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed grief over death of his respectable teacher Major Geoffrey Douglas Langlands, who has been passed away in Lahore. Douglas was Imran Khan’s teacher at Aitchison College. Geoffrey Langlands died at the age of 101 in a hospital in Lahore on 2 January 2019 after a brief illness.
Remembering his school days, he shared his pictures on twitter and wrote; “Saddened to learn of the passing of my teacher. Apart from being our teacher, he instilled the love for trekking and our northern areas in me – before the KKH was built. (I was 12 years old in the school picture).”

Geoffrey Douglas Langlands born in 1917, was a British Major, a teacher and educator who lived in Pakistan since the partition of the British Indian Empire in 1947.He served in the British Indian Army and Pakistani Army as part of his service tenure.his contribution for academics are unforgettable. He received many awards including Hilal-e-Imtiaz (HI; 2011), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (1987) and Sitara-i-Pakistan (SPk, 2004).
