Pakistan is making efforts to stop Indian troops’ brutality in occupied Kashmir and has raised the alarming situation of killing of innocent Kahmiris to international community as Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (Dec 20) telephoned United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and expressed concern on the recent Pulwama violence in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).,
“The PM expressed deep shock and grave concern on the escalation in the continuing violence in IOK, especially the recent killing of 15 innocent Kashmiris and injuries to more than 300 protesters,” read an official statement. PM Imran emphasized on a point that Jammu and Kashmir dispute is not a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India, but an internationally recognised dispute and an outstanding agenda item in the UN Security Council. He reiterated the proposal of appointing a special UN representative for resolution of the longstanding dispute.
Earlier on December 15 more than 15 youth had martyred and 300 injured in a brutal use of state force against unarmed and innocent young people, in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The Indian forces launched cordon and search operation in the area in which three young people were martyred.
