Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan inaugurated a 1,320 megawatt China Hub Power Plant on Monday, which is one of the primary projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor plan.
While addressing a ceremony, Imran Khan said that every kind of facility would be provided to assist the joint project.
PM Imran Khan arrived in Karachi on a day-long visit during which he held meetings with members of the National Assembly and Sindh Assembly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) met with the prime minister.
Prime Minister Khan said it was the responsibility of the provincial government of Sindh to solve Karachi’s problems. He said that the federal government contributes in terms of resources based on its capacity.
In his meeting with the Sindh Governor, Khan assured him that the K-4 project for Karachi would be completed at all costs, also briefed about the ongoing development projects in the city-funded by the federal government.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati, Federal Minister for Planning Khusro Bakhtyar, Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda, Special Assistant to the PM on Petroleum Nadeem Babar and former finance minister Asad Umar accompanied the prime minister.
Prime Minister Khan identified corruption as Pakistan’s biggest issue, “Just to get rich, some people looted the country, This is why foreign investment didn’t come to Pakistan.”
Khan lavished praise on the CPEC project and said that coal in Thar was being used to produce electricity. The prime minister said that more coal should be extracted from Thar and used to produce electricity.
