Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday (Feb 3) said Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice and directed the Federal Minister for Petroleum to conduct an inquiry in inflated gas bills as it is unjustified to put unnecessary burden on the poor consumers.
The minister said “10 per cent increase in gas price was for consumers using less than 300 mmcfd (million cubic feet per day), which constituted 70 per cent of the total consumers, while higher raise was for the rich people, consuming high volume of gas”.
He also shed light on befits health cards which will be issued to poor and deserving people for proper health treatment. Fawad said the prime minister also chaired a meeting on the governance matters in Punjab and soon changes would come forth in that regard as it was part of the PTI’s manifesto to improve the governance system.
