In a major development in murder case of Hindu medical student, Nimrita Kumari, police has arrested her two suspected class fellows on Wednesday (Sep 18).
The SSP Larkana Masood Bangash told the media that both the students were taken into custody after tracing the call data from the deceased student’s cell phone. He said their pictures and exam pass were found from Nimrita’s hostel room. He said the laptop is also being analysed for any clues.
Earlier, the Sindh government has written a letter to the court authorities to initiate a judicial inquiry into the death of Nimrita Kumari, a student of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University’s Bibi Aseefa Dental College. Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Information Senator Murtaza Wahab had yesterday promised a group of protesters in Karachi that the Sindh government would ask for a judicial inquiry into the death of the girl.
A final-year student of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hostel room of Bibi Asifa Dental College in Larkana on Monday. Kumari was found dead on Monday, the university administration had earlier said, adding that she had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room in the university’s hostel.
Nimrita Kumari’s brother has claimed that his sister was murdered. Dr. Vishal also demanded that the postmortem be carried out by a private hospital. He said his sister, Kumari, was distributing sweetmeat in college at 12:30PM and inquired what could possibly have happened in the next 90 minutes that she committed suicide.
