Police on November 13, thwarted a snatching bid involving Sikh pilgrims in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab province.
The incident took place in the famous Anarkali Bazar of the city, where two men tried to snatch valuables from a sikh family of two, who came to visit Sikh religious sites.
The culprits snatched cash and gold items. The culprits were on a CD-70 motorcycle and made an attempt to blend in with the crowd. However, the Dolphin police force, deployed for the safety of the pilgrims, intercepted the snatchers and recovered the looted items. They were later shifted to a nearby police station for further investigations and sentencing.
The pilgrims applauded the police action saying Pakistan is a peaceful country and the authorities have provided a very secure infrastructure for Guru’s 550 birthday.
