On Wednesday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari while speaking at a meeting of parliamentary leaders via video link, called for National Assembly session, denouncing the federal government for what it called its failure to ensure a functioning parliament during the coronavirus crisis.
The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam, Bilawal said his party was willing to work with the speaker’s office to provide both oversight and security.
He said that the speaker and the government should also ensure the protection of the life and health of Assembly members and staff.
He said long debates may be limited during the session, but there would be no compromise on the right to vote for legislation.
