Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah on Tuesday (Nov 6), during his National Assembly speech mocked the Information Minister’s statement of sending protesters and few politicians in space.
Replying in the same criticizing tone, Shah said “[I] have heard that SUPARCO has asked for the data of last five years. The House will be empty, if the plan goes on. ” “We demand the commission to seek data of only last three months,” he added. He continued, “We don’t want to create unrest in the assembly. The speaker had called us in his chamber and the opposition was there but the treasury members did not turn up.” “He warned the government members against continuing with the “politics of name-calling”.
Earlier Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Monday (Nov.5) while speaking about the recent country-wide protests against Supreme Court’s verdict of Asia Bibi’s acquittal, said that, ‘There are some politicians who are creating chaos on ground and should be sent to space.” “I will ask SUPARCO to ensure that once these politicians go to space, they cannot return,” he added. Further, Chaudhry said, “We do not have any big fight with opposition parties.” “Our only point of contention is that the opposition wants NRO and we cannot give that.”
